While corrosion is a ubiquitous failure mode in materials, we report a percolating 1D wormhole corrosion morphology. We have also developed a vacancy mapping method with nm-resolution, identifying its nanostructural origin. Check our paper on Nature Communications, as well as the Penn State News.
